What People's Say About Place

Charming, magical experience! We love this tea house. The house is precious and creates such a perfect ambiance for afternoon tea. They have a wide variety of teas to choose from and we have never been disappointed. The food is also very tasty. Upstairs there is a small gift shop and they have also recently added a “to go” window with teas, coffee, and pastries. Highly recommend for a girls date, bridal shower, or maybe to take your grandmother out for tea!

My partner took me here for my birthday. All the staff were really friendly and the building is so charming. We were able to smell many tea varieties in the shop upstairs before our reservation so we had some ideas what kinds we wanted to try. The foods and tea were delicious! We were the last people in the building as we finished our last pot of tea, but we weren't rushed at all and it was so relaxing. One thing I was really impressed with and was not expecting was that our server used my preferred pronouns without even having to be asked, probably thanks to having checked my ID for an alcohol order. It was a small touch but it was the cherry on top of an already amazing experience. I can't wait to go again sometime.

Obviously a reference to Alice in Wonderland, and I didn't have a chance to order the famous Queen of Hearts tea that people were talking about, which was okay because I got some pretty good brunch. I thought my entire experience was not something I was used to and lovely. The restaurant was located inside what looked like a residential house-turned restaurant, which was quite new and interesting to me, and I was ready to embrace the change. Overall the food was pretty good in the most conventional manners. The hollandaise sauce enhanced the flavors of the crab cakes and tweedle puff, and the side potatoes and fries are pretty well-made. I got the combo skillet which contained kielbasa, ham, bacon, etc. along with eggs that I ordered as made sunny side up. Nothing exceptional to highlight, but nothing exceedingly constructive that I would offer, either! Just pretty good standard brunch food is how I would put what my friends and I ordered from the Mad Hatter. Oh, I must say the cinnamon roll looked amazing! We ordered the "crazy Alice" version if I remembered the name correctly, and the presentation was something else! It definitely allowed me to take a good photo prior to indulging in its sweetness. It was slightly hard despite the menu saying it's freshly baked, but putting some cream cheese frosting on top of a piece of cinnamon roll would make the experience more pleasant. I do not normally visit the area so I am not sure when the next time will be that I return to this establishment, but I do recommend it to those who want to experience some "old school fairy tale" vibes with themes that reflected somewhat older times! And if I do return, I would definitely love to try their tea, or even get a chance to go for the Queen of Hearts!

Good vibes Unique experience The most diverse tea options to try Pricy (+$60/pp) Just expect many old fashion hats And old British style tea parities

Had a great time with our group. The tea service was phenomenal. The chicken salad croissant and the berries and cream cheese French toast was really good. Jessica was an attentive server. Need to make reservations far in advance but it’s worth it!

I have been to Mad Hatters several times and just LOVE the charming atmosphere and decor, delicious food choices, and darling upstairs boutique. Changes each season. My immediate family of men and women enjoyed the Xmas atmosphere. My recent visit with friends so fun when trying the mimosas, teas, and pastries. Liz, the owner, is most personable and gracious. Must try experience year round!!!! Norma K, Maple Grove

This was our first experience at the Mad Hatter; and we loved it! My husband and I attended the Christmas tea. It was decorated beautifully. The food was superb, tea selections were delicious. We have been to tea events in British Columbia (they are very seriousabouttheir tea there), and the Mad Hatter is comparable - top notch. Our server was Megan; she was wonderful. We also had the pleasure of meeting the owner and learning more about the history of the Mad Hatter. Thank you for a wonderful experience.

We held my daughter’s bridal shower at The Mad Hatter. Everything was so amazing! The food was scrumptious and the teas were exquisite. We all loved being able to try such a variety of teas. And the Celebration Cake was divine! The atmosphere is so unique and cozy. Every detail was thought of by Kim and the staff - even the linens and tea cups were matched to my daughters wedding colors. We were so well taken care of and we all left talking about when we would be going back! We had a vegetarian and gluten-free diets and both were given their own tiers of food to accommodate. Top-notch service every step of the way!
